Chapter Seventeen

"Ash?" Mrs. Smith knocked on Ashley's door. It was about four o clock in the afternoon. Taylor had drove Ashley home and when she arrived she climbed in bed. She didn't feel like talking to anyone.

"Hrrmmph," she muttered from underneath her sheets.

"Is your stomach still bothering you?" Mrs. Smith asked. She sat down on the bed and stroked her daughters hair. Ashley had said the food at the restauraunt gave her cramps and that was why she was in bed.

"No,why would it bother me?" she said sleepily. She turned the other way.

Mrs. Smith chuckled. "You went to breakfast with Taylor, right?"

It hit Ashley. Oops. she thought. "Oh yeah...."

"It's okay, I'll let you sleep. I hope you feel better." Mrs. Smith kissed her daughter on her head and left, gently closing the door.

"Oh man," Ashley whispered softly. She moved around and felt pain coming between her legs. "Shit. I feel like shit." But she decided to stay in bed. She felt like she couldn't trust Isaac. "Oh c'mon, Ash, you've known him for years..." she said softly. But something was holding her back from trusting him, and she wasn't sure what.

"How's Ash?" Dawn asked when her mother came back downstairs. She had walked Zac home earlier that day and then came home, completely unaware of what happened with Ashley.

"She's still sleeping. Poor thing. I figured I'd let her sleep, she seems to be so exhausted lately," Mrs Smith said, preparing a pot for dinner.

"Oh," Dawn replied, her eyes glued to the tv. "Hey mom? Can I go out with Zac tonight? Us and a few of his friends are going to some teen club that his friend owns."

Mrs. Smith looked thoughtful. "I don't see why not. You two have been spending an awful lot of time together since we've been back," she commented.

Dawn rolled her eyes jokingly. "Well, Mother dear, Zac is my boyfriend. I like him, you know."

Mrs. Smith laughed. "Yes, I know. I like teasing you." A frown came across her face. "But Ashley's seemes especially close to Taylor. I hope nothing close actuially happens between them."

Dawn groaned. "Here we go again. Ashley wouldn't do that. Her and Taylor have no plans to do anything that your thinking of."

Mrs. Smith raised an eyebrow at her. "And how do you know this?"

Dawn shruugged. "She told me." Then went upstairs.

It was around eight o'clock. Dawn was getting ready to go out, and Ashley was up, showered, and camped out in front of the TV.

Taylor had tried calling several times while she was asleep, but she made no move to call him back. I'll call him back when I'm ready, she thought.

Dawn rushed downstair's. She glanced around. "Zac and his friends are going to be here any minute. Wheres my coat?" She rushed to the porch. "DAMNIT! Hey Ash, can I borrow your coat PLEASE? I can't find mine."

"Sure." was Ashleys distant reply.

Dawn walked back to the family room. "Are you okay?" she asked, sitting down next to her sister.

Ashley shrugged. "Yeah."

Dawn shook her head. "Nope. Whats wrong?"

Ashley thought for a moment. Should I tell her? We do tell each other everything, she thought. They heard a knock at the door. "I'll tell you later," Ashley replied, kissing her sister on the cheek. "Go have fun."

Dawn looked closely at her. "Okay. Bye!" She darted off.

Oh boy, Ashley thought.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Zac's friend Jimmy yelled as Dawn and Zac walked towards the car.

"Yo buddy," Dawn replied as her and Zac got in the backseat.

Jimmy turned around from the drivers seat and peered at her. "So I hear Zac spent the night at your house."

"I said nothing happened!" Zac butted in. He was blushing.

"Ooooh. Go Dawn. My sister!" Jimmy's girlfriend, Stacey, said from the front.

Dawn laughed. "Yeah okay. It was wild, let me tell ya. Zac's quite the man," she said, wrapping her arms around him and kissed him. Zacs smile grew larger as his face grew redder.

"Haha," he muttered. He turned to the guy sitting next to him. "Yo, Marc, so which club are we going to?"

"Club Seven. You know, the one near the mall. My brother owns it." Marc replied.

"Oh, yeah I know where that is. I hear it's wild," Zac replied, putting his arm around Dawn.

"Zac, man it is. There are some hot ass chicks there, too," said Steve, who was sitting on the other side of Stacey in the front seat. He winked at Dawn. "But I guess you already have a hot chick."

Dawn smiled and winked back. "You can bet on it." She leaned over to Zac. "How old are these people? I haven't seen them in awhile," she whispered.

"Jimmy's 17, Stacey's 16, Steve's 15, and Marc's 16," Zac replied. He kissed her gently.

"Oh come on man! At this rate the backseats gonna be steamy!" Marc laughed.

Jimmy laughed. "Not as steamy as the club. I have a feeling this is gonna be a wild night!" he said as they drove down the road.
