Chapter    Thirteen

Taylor blushed and glanced over at Ashley.

Zac laughed. "Really, Tay. So I'm guessing you guys didn't split?" Dawn elbowed him. "Ow!"

Ashley's mouth dropped open. "What!! Hell NO!" Especially after what we were about to do. She looked at Taylor, who appeared to be in shock. "What on Earth made you think that?"

Dawn glared at Zac. "He was just being funny." She leaned over and whispered. "Nice going Zac, you're gonna have them upset."

Zac looked over and shrugged helplessly. "Oops. I'm sorry."

Taylor gave them a weird look. "Um, ok. Don't you have something to do?"

Zac stuck out his tongue. "Actually, yes," he informed his brother. He grabbed Dawns hand. "Come on." He led Dawn out with her looking bewildered.

After they left, Taylor jumped up and shut the door. "God damn, my brother is such a brat." He paused, looking carefully over her face. "What's a matter?" he asked softly.

Ashley didn't know why, but she felt tears coming to her eyes. "Nothing. I was just thinking about something." Then it hit her. Taylor's sudden aggressiveness reminded her of Jamie that one night.

Taylor came over and sat down next to her on the bed, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "I know it not nothing. Something's wrong."

Ashley glanced up and saw that Taylor's eyes were full of concern. She bit her lip. "Its...I don't know. For some reason Grandma popped in my head."

Taylor gave her a hug and gently tickled her. "That was...how long ago?" He asked teasingly.

She laughed. "I know, but you know how I am." She stifled a yawn. Taylor looked skeptic.

"Uh, Dawn? Can I ask you something?" Zac asked as he sat down on the porch swing on the closed in porch.

Dawn smiled. "Yup." She sat down next to Zac and lay across his lap.

Zac toyed with her hair. "Why did you stop when we were in the park? Was I too short? Too long? Too-"

Dawn grabbed his collar and pulled him down and gave him a long kiss. When she pulled away, she looked deep in his surprised eyes. "No. It was none of that. Its just that it was cold, and it was in the park, where anyone could see us. Honey, it has nothing to do with size. I could care less, even."

Zac kissed her forehead. He felt like an anvil had been lifted off his shoulders. Why was I thinking so much about that? Stupid Taylor, probably. Putting all these ideas in my head. "Ok." He paused. "When do you think we'll do it? Not that I really care about it," he said quickly, seeing the amusement on her face.

Dawn sighed. She sat up, sitting on his lap. "Zac, Zac, Zac," she said. "We'll get to it, eventually. It just wasn't the time or place." She wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders and buried her face in his neck. He tilted his head on hers and stroked her hair. "Ok," he whispered.

"Aww, how cute," Taylor whispered playfully. "She must be giving him a hard on by the way she's wrapped around his waist."

"What!" Zac darted. He lifted his head up to stare at his brother menacingly.

Ashley giggled. "Ooh, Zac, you're blushing."

Dawn lifted her head and shook her head. "There's no light in here. How could you see?"

"Because he's as bright as a light bulb, you don't need a light," Taylor said, smirking. "And he hasn't let go of you yet, either."

"God Damn Tay how come you have to walk in on us whenever we're alone?" Zac snapped. Dawn gave him a shocked look.

"Don't worry about it. He's just pissed because I figured him out," Taylor shrugged.

Zac started to move to hit him but Dawn stopped him. "Zac, stop it," she said warningly. He reluctantly pulled back and rested his head on her shoulder.

"Hey Zac, are you pussy whipped or something?" Taylor laughed. "I have never seen him back off for anyone before."

Zac lifted his head and looked Dawn in the eye. "Can I get up to kill my brother?" Dawn shook her head and made herself more comfortable. She got an idea, and gently started kissing his neck and ear.

Zac sighed. "No, I am not pussy whipped. I just don't want to hurt her."

Ashley laughed. "Oh, ok Zac. Sure. Well, anyways, I'm driving Tay home. You need a ride, Zac?"

Zac shook his head. "Nah. Dawn already said she'd take me home later. Thanks anyway."

Ashley nodded. "Ok. Well, bye kids." She pulled Taylor out the door before he could say anything.

"They had sex? Is that what you talking about Taylor?" Ashley asked as they got in her car.

He shrugged. "I'm not sure. Zac never said anything. You never know. Besides, everytime I see them her legs are wrapped around him and he looks panically like he can't control himself around her."

"Taylor, you have a sick mind. I'm sure they didn't. So do you want to go right home?"

A smile spread across his face.
