Dawn laughed. "I dunno," she said, tapping her chin. "I don't know if I have any plans...Oh, what the hell. Okay. Hold on two seconds while I get my skates." She ran in, and saw Ashley and Taylor watching Scream 2. "Again?" Dawn moaned. She rolled her eyes.
Taylor mocked her. "Yeah, AGAIN. Anyways, where you going?" he asked.
Dammit Taylor! Dawn grabbed her skates and headed for the door. "Skating. With my friends. Bye." She left and shut the door behind her.
Taylor looked confused. "Zac's playing hockey with Jimmy and a few of his friends today. I didn't think Dawn was playing."
"Shes not."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Tay, she has other friends you know."
Taylor leaned over and peered out the window. "Well, one of them is prancing around her like a dog on a fire hydrant. Or a guy who's PWed."
Ashley rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well he can get kinda hyper. Duh. That's her friend David."
Taylor gave her a knowing smile. "Oh, no wonder. Thats the guy who has a crush on her? Zac told me he was a little kid."
Ashleys midn went blank. "Um, no. He's like eighteen I think...."
Taylor's got wide eyed. "And does Zac know this??"
Shit. Shit shit SHIT!!! "No. Dawn thinks it would make Zac uncomfortable so she didn't say how old he was," Ashley said. There. That was good.
"Oh. Is she gonna tell him? Cause I think he should know."
Argh Tay. "I don't know, Tay. Let her do what she wants to do. Anyways," she said, moving closer to him. "Let's do what I want to do," she said, trying to get his mind off the subject.
"Okay, no prob," He replied, sitting sideways and starting to kiss her neck.
"Ahh! Man I can't stop!" Dawn yelled as they were skating down to the park.
"Nick! Why'd you push her??" David yelled before taking off after her.
Meanwhile, at the bottom of the park Zac was playing roller hockey with his friends. "Hey Zac, isn't that Dawn?" Jimmy asked, panting.
"Huh?" Zac spun around just in time to cushin Dawn's fall and toppled onto the grass. "Oh my God, Dawn, are you okay?" he asked. He realized he had ended up laying on top of her and grinned. "Well, am I hurting you?"
Dawn smiled and shook her head. "No. Not at all. I'm sorry. I was skating with my friends and one of them pushed me-"
"DAWN! Are you okay?" David yelled, coming to a stop right next to them. He gave Zac a half smile. "Thanks for helping her, man."
Zac shrugged. "No problem. It's not everday I get to run into beautiful girls like Dawn," he said before giving her a peck on the lips and helping her up.
David stood there, shocked. "You know him, Dawn?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.
Dawn swallowed. "Um, yeah. David, this is Zac, my boyfriend."
Zac looked at David and laughed. "This is the David your mom's been talking about?" he whsipered to Dawn.
Dawn nodded and elbowed him.
David glared at Zac. "Your boyfriend? Of how long?"
Zac shot him a look. "Three years, two months."
"Oh. Well Dawn, Sarah and them wanna get a a move on so let's go," David said, reaching out and grabbing Dawns hand and pullling her away.
Zac stopped him.
"Can it, buddy. She'll leave when she ready to leave," he said, standing right in front of him.
Oh God. Oh God. Oh God. "Um, Zac it's ok, really. I should go anyway though. I'll call you later," Dawn said, stepping in between them and offering Zac her smile.
He smiled back. "No problem. Make sure you do," he said, leaning down to kiss her. "Bye, honey."
She waved before skating off. "Bye, Zac." They skated out of the park and down the next street in silence.
"How come you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend?" David asked, as him and Dawn skated behind everyone else.
"It never came up. Besides, he just got back from Europe with his family," Dawn said, advoiding his gaze.
"Oh. He looked familar to me. Isn't he one of those Hanson kids?" David asked.
Dawn nodded. "Yeah. He the youngest one. I'm sorry. I should have told you."
David shrugged. He figured if he was one of them kids then he'd soon leave. His little sister was in love with him. "Its ok. Anyways, my little sister loves them. Um, The drummer one."
Dawn laughed. "Thats who that was. That was Zac." She giggled.
David's mouth dropped open. "Isn't he like thirteen or something?" he asked, shocked.
Dawn gave him a look. "No. Hes 15."
David smirked. "That's three years younger then me."
Dawn rolled her eyes, then started skating faster. "I can add, you know." She couldn't believe how David was acting. She didn't think he would take it that way.
